Selja stresses need for modernization of museums

Union Culture Minister Ms Kumari Selja stresses the need for modernization and upgradation of museums in the country with the state-of-the-art technology.

Ms Selja said Indian museums are centres of learning and community participation and are at par with the museums of the world. However, she said the museums must strength their infrastructure, working systems and staff capacities to improve their service to the society. Speaking at the inaugural function of Vivekananda Memorial programme for museum excellence in New Delhi today, the minister said the late philosopher was the first cultural ambassador and advocate of inter-faith understanding.
