Self-regulation desirable in On-line Content sector: Information and Broadcasting Secy

<span style="color: #222222;">Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare has said, self-regulation is desirable in On-line Content sector.  In his address at the Seminar on Regulation of On-line Content, Film Certification and the Ease of Doing Filming, being organized by the Press Information Bureau in Chennai, he said, Code of Self-Regulation needs to be evolved.<br />''<br />''Mr Khare expressed satisfaction that the method of self-regulation proved to be effective in the case of reporting on the apex court verdict on the Ayodhya issue. He also pointed out that the films being produced in India continue to evoke deep interests worldwide. He noted that Indian film industry remains one of the major job providers and revenue generators.<br />''<br />''The Chairman of the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal Justice Manmohan Sarin said, the stakeholders involved in the on-line contents field should arrive at a consensus on the Code of Conduct for Self-Regulation so that the Ministry could process them with ease. </span><br />
