The crew members of the Iranian boat, which was impounded by the Coast Guard, off the Alappuzha coast in Kerala recently, had links with international drug mafia. According to police, this information was gathered after examining the satellite phone recovered from the boat. Police said the satellite phone was used for making calls to Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. <br/><br/>Following a tip-off from the National Intelligence agency RAW, the Iranian boat, along with 12 crew members were captured by the Coast Guard authorities, on the 5th of this month. Of them, seven were Iranian nationals and the other five were Pakistanis. Identity cards issued by Pakistan were also recovered.<br/><br/>Police disclosed that a forensic examination of the Satellite phone and antenna, will elicit more information. The captured crew members are under judicial custody till the 31st of this month.
