Seized black money will be spent on welfare of poor: Amit Shah

BJP President Amit Shah has said that the Centre will spend the entire black money brought from abroad on welfare programmes for the poor and there is no question of transferring 15 lakhs rupees into each person's bank account. Speaking in a private TV programme, Mr. Shah said during Lok Sabha poll campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the black money stashed abroad, if divided, could amount to 15 lakhs rupees per person. But, it does not mean that this amount will be deposited into each person's account. He said when leaders speak at public meetings, they often become emotional and therefore their statements should not be taken in strict literal sense. The opposition is continuously harping on Mr. Modi's reported promise about 15 lakh rupees coming into every person's account at every public stage.

On Writers returning their Sahitya Akademi awards, Mr. Shah said, they are doing so under the pretext of incidents that took place in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka which are ruled by Samajwadi Party and Congress and not by BJP. He said if BJP or its affiliates are behind such incidents, why are there no protests in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Goa as protests there could have suited them better. He alleged that vote bank politics is dominating law and order in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.
The BJP President also criticized the authors saying there are many among them who had signed an appeal during the Lok Sabha elections against Narendra Modi.
