Security tightened in Kabul after Taliban attacks

In Afghanistan, security has been further tightened all over capital Kabul in wake of Taliban attacks yesterday which killed at least five people.Policemen searched vehicles entering the city and increased the number of checkpoints. It is suspected that militant groups may be planning more such attacks before the international conference on Afghanistan scheduled at London on 28th of this month. President Hamid Karzai chaired a special security meeting today to discuss the terror attacks and praised the speedy action shown by security forces in neutralizing the enemy’s plan and minimizing casualties. The meeting agreed that the current security plan for Kabul be reviewed and reported back for approval of the President. Afghanistan government has said that the terrorist attacks were planned outside the country.Interior minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar told a press conference last evening that some of the bombers were not Afghans as per initial investigations, adding Afghanistan don't have training centres for suicide bombers. Afghan government has always pointed out that such high-profile attacks are plotted across the border in Pakistan territory but Islamabad denied any involvement in the attacks.
