Elaborate security arrangements have been made to maintain peace and communal harmony in view of Ram Janmabhumi-Babri Mosque verdict.Amidst tight security, life in Ayodhya and Faizabad remains normal. The senior superintendent of police R.K. S Rathore told AIR Correspondent that in view of tomorrow’s verdict on the Ram Janam Bhumi- Babri Masjid title suit of the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, all precautionary measures have been taken and more than ten thousand Para military forces and armed police have been deployed at important locations of the two cities. He said that besides Para military forces and the people from civil society are also put on job in different localities of Ayodhya to maintain harmony and peace among local residents.Security has also been tightened in Bihar to prevent any untoward incident in view of the impending verdict on the Ayodhaya. AIR Patna correspondent reports that with the six- phase Assembly elections scheduled from October 21, the state government is taking no chance. Political parties have appealed to the people of the state to maintain peace and harmony. Home Secretary Amir Subhani told AIR that the state administration was fully geared up to ensure that there was no breach of peace in Bihar. All the district magistrates have been put on alert and asked to hold peace meetings with religious leaders. A core team of IAS and senior police officers have been formed to keep a close watch on the law and order situation.In Tamil Nadu, security has been beefed at all vulnerable places throughout the state. Police have been deployed in places of worship and all precautionary steps have been taken to maintain law and order. The state police are coordinating with railway police in providing escorts to trains and railway tracks. The state government reviewed the security situation at a high level meeting chaired by the Chief secretary Mrs. Malathy. The District administration has been advised to conduct meeting with representatives of various organization for maintaining harmony.In Kerala also security has been tightened in wake of Allahabad High Court verdict in Ayodhya case. Entire police force of the state has been placed on maximum alert. Anti-sabotage squad and bomb squad have been deployed in certain places. Rallys and demonstrations are banned across the state tomorrow. State Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that prohibitory order has been declared in Kozhikode district from today. District Collectors have been authorised to issue such orders, if necessary. The Chief MInister V S Achuthanandan urged the people to keep up the secular tradition of the state and respect the court verdict.Moreover the Director General and IG of Police in Karnataka Ajai Kumar Singh informed in Bangaluru today that elaborate arrangements have been made to maintain peace and communal harmony in view of Ram Janmabhumi-Babri Mosque verdict tomorrow. Additional Director General of Police A R Infant informed that adequate number of security personnel will be deployed in the state from tomorrow morning. Ajai Kumar Singh informed that section 144 will be imposed in all major cities of the state.
