Security has been tightened in the Chinese region of Inner Mongolia, following a series of protests over the death of a herdsman. Police are said to be out in force in a number of places including the Capital, Hohhot. The herder was reportedly mowed down and killed by a coal truck as he tried to stop it from crossing his grassland. A media report from Beijing says Inner Mongolia is a region in Northern China with plentiful reserves of natural resources, particularly coal. Sometime it leads to conflict between mining companies and traditional herders whose grasslands are being used as roadways for trucks transporting coals from the coal industry.
