Security & strategic analyst Subrahmanyam passes away

India's first security and strategic analyst K Subrahmanyam, passed away in New Delhi on Wednesday morning after a prolonged illness. He was 82. Subrahmanyam was suffering from cancer and diabetes but his end came following a heart attack. A prominent international strategic affairs analyst, journalist and a former Indian civil servant, Subrahmanyam headed the Kargil Committee. He was the founding Director of the security think-tank, Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses. He also headed the Prime Minister's Task Force on Global Strategic Developments.
