Security situation in J&K improved since August 2019: Nityanand Rai

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai has said that the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir has improved significantly since August 2019.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, there has been a significant decline in terrorist incidents while infiltration of terrorists from across the border has also come down. In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today, Mr. Rai said, the number of terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir has come down from 417 in 2018 to 203 till 30th of last month and estimated net infiltration has also come down from 143 in 2018 to 28 till 31st October this year. The Minister said, the Government has instituted a robust security and intelligence grid along with proactive operations against terrorists.<br />''<br />''In reply to supplementaries, Mr. Rai said, there is no requirement for any Kashmiri Pandit to apply anywhere for settling in the valley. He said, however, 1678 Government employees appointed under Prime Minister's Development Package, 2015 have joined their duties in the valley. He further informed that during the financial year 2020-21, State Goods and Services Tax has registered a growth of 14.5 per cent, Motor Spirit saw a growth of 64.63 per cent and  Stamp Duty collections witnessed a growth of 104.10 per cent  as compared to the last year. Besides, The Minister said, besides the net increase in Goods and Services Tax collection has been 25.43 per cent in the current financial year. He added that all these indicate growth in industries, business, trade and employment sectors due to several measures taken by the Government.</span>
