Security situation improving after suicide attacks on last Sunday: Sri Lankan PM

<span style="color: #222222;">Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremsinghe has said the security situation in the country is improving after the suicide attacks last Sunday. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said security forces are acting as more information is gathered on terrorist groups active in the island nation. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In an exclusive interview to AIR News in Colombo, Mr. Wickremsinghe said new evidence is being dug up everyday, and foreign investigative agencies are helping the government to dig up foreign links of terrorist groups. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said there was prior information shared on the attacks but it was not acted upon, and the government will take such things seriously in future. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Wickremsinghe said there is a bill pending in Parliament, which gives extra-territorial legislation to those who are linked with foreign terrorist groups, and it will be expedited. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Sri Lankan Prime Minister had earlier accepted that some fundamentalists could not be arrested for their links with ISIS in absence of a law to deal with them in the country. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said there are some fundamentalist groups who seek to preach violence but a vast majority of Muslims do not approve of it. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Wickremsinghe accepted that though tourism in the country has been affected in the wake of the attacks, the losses are not huge, and they expect the tourists to be back after August.  </span><br />''
