Security forces sanitizing Kabul hotel after suicide bombers attack

In Afghanistan security forces are sanitizing the high security Intercontinental Hotel where 10 people including 2 policemen were killed and eight others injured in insurgent attack last night. The hotel at hilltop is frequently visited by Afghan and foreign visitors and is generally used for seminars and conferences. Six heavily armed insurgents stormed the hotel around 10 p.m. (IST) last night when the guests were having dinner. Some of the insurgents were suicide bomber and they blew themselves up inside hotel. Rest of them went to the rooftop and started firing indiscriminately with rocket propelled guns and other sophisticated weapons. Afghan security forces fought a pitched battle before calling International Security Assistance Force. In 4-5 hour operation, in which helicopters were also used, all the insurgents were killed. There was a huge fire in the hotel after the attack which was put off later on. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
