In Assam, security forces have recovered 10 IEDs in Barpeta district. Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) S N Singh told AIR that acting on the information of arrested Jamat Ul Mujahidin, Bangladesh terrorist Nurjamal Haque, the police unearthed the explosives at Panpara village under Patacharkuchi police station today.
Police arrested Nurjamal yesterday at Bijni in Chirang district on the information of Burdwan blast accused Sahanur Alom. Mr. Singh said that police got to know during interrogation of Sahanur that terrorist had stored bombs in the state. He said that the police interrogated Nurjamal and he had identified the place in Barpeta district where the terrorist had kept explosives.
In another incident, two cadres of the banned outfit National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit group) were gunned down today in Chirang district. IGP, L R Bishnoi said that three grenades, two pistols, one AK series rifle and 600 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
Mr. Bishnoi said that in retaliation, the militants triggered grenade blast at Dhaligaon area bordering Chirang and Bongaigaon district but no casualty or injury was reported in the blast.
