In Afghanistan, security forces have recaptured at least 65 prisoners who were among the nearly 500 inmates that escaped in a mass jailbreak in southern Kandahar city on Sunday night. A massive manhunt is on to arrest the prisoners, mostly Taliban fighters, who fled down a tunnel dug under the walls of prison.Officials said jail authorities had collected biometric data for all prisoners and it would be easier to track them down. Two of the inmates were killed yesterday after they resisted arrest by police in Kandahar. Meanwhile, NATO troops said they have killed a Saudi born Al-Qaeda senior leader and number two most-wanted militant in Afghanistan. NATO -led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said Abu Hafs al-Najdi, also known as Abdul Ghani, was killed in an air strike in Kunar province on the 13th of this month. It said the militant was responsible for coordination of numerous high-profile attacks. On the morning of his death, he reportedly directed a suicide attack that killed a tribal elder and nine other Afghan civilians.
