Centre today said the security forces may resort to use of pellet guns if other measures found to be ineffective in dispersing of rioters. As per the recommendation of the expert committee, the government has decided that the security forces will use various measures like PAVA Chilli and Tear Smoke Shells against the rioters as non-lethal weapons instead of pellet guns. <br/><br/>This was stated by Minister of State for Home, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. The Minister was asked whether the government is planning to take a re-look at the non-lethal weapons in the wake of uses of pellet guns in Jammu and Kashmir resulting into loss of vision of various people.
