In Afghanistan, security forces backed by NATO-led troops have killed 27 Taliban militants in the eastern Ghazni province. An army officer Daud Shah Wafadar said today that those killed in the combined operation launched on Monday included four local commanders. Seven militants have been captured, he added. Wafadar said that 36 assault rifles and nine anti-tank mines have also been seized during the operation. There has been no comment so far by the Taliban militants.
