In the Kashmir valley, an unidentified foreign militant was killed in an encounter with security forces at Laribal, Zachaldara in Handwara Tehsil of Kupwara district. Five residential houses were gutted in the exchange of fire. AIR correspondent reports, a large quantity of arms and ammunition, including one AK-47 rifle, one wireless set and other ammunition has been recovered from the site of the encounter. The fierce encounter near the Line of Control which left one militant killed and five houses gutted is indicative of the fact that the militants are trying their best to sneak into this side of LoC as the snow has melted on the higher ridges. This is also an indication that forces across the LoC are still pushing the subversives to disturb peace and normalcy in the state of J&K. However, the security forces are not leaving any stone unturned to foil these attempts.
