In Jammu and Kashmir, two hardcore militants of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit were killed by Army and police in a deep natural cave at Kalamul forests on the outskirts of village Budi in Gandoh area of Doda district on Sunday.A Light Machine Gun (LMG), looted from a police post along with other weapons from Chilyas police post on September 9, 2006, was recovered from the possession of slain militants along with other weapons. It took police and Army more than 16 hours to kill the militants in view of a very large natural cave hideout in which they had taken shelter. There were no casualties of Army or police in the operation.
