In Pakistan, at least 60 militants were killed and 20 others injured in clashes with the security forces in the northern Upper Orakzai tribal area on Wednesday. A local TV channel report said 22 security personnel were also injured in the clashes. It was the latest offensive launched by Pakistani security forces against Taliban militants in Orakzai Agency in the troubled northwest tribal areas. On Monday, over 30 militants were killed in fresh assaults. On Sunday, over 60 militants were killed and several dozens injured in different clashes with the security forces in Kurram and Orakzai Agencies of the Pakistani tribal areas. So far over 700 militants have been killed during the past two months in the continuing military operation against the militants in Pakistani tribal areas.
