In Assam, security forces killed 3 Karbi People’s Liberation Tigers, KPLT militant early this morning in Karbi Anglong district. Karbi Anglong’s Superintendent of Police B. C Chetri said that, acting on a tip off, Assam Police and Army launched a joint operation at Barpung -Taarapung area under Shantipur Police Station and killed the militants after a gun battle. Senior police officials rushed to the spot. It may be recalled that, the KPLT is suspected to be behind the kidnapping of 17 workers of an under-construction power project in Karbi Anglong district on 10th of this month.
