In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces shot dead two Hizbul Mujahideen militants including a self-styled divisional commander of the outfit during an encounter in Mahore area of Reasi district last night. Official sources said that Police and CRPF had launched a joint operation on a specific information in the Deedan Gali in Mahore. The militants were asked to surrender but they opened fire on security personnel. The forces retaliated and an encounter ensued in which the two ultras were killed.
