In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces achieved a major success by gunning down a self styled Area Commander of pro-Pak militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen in Ramban district. According to official sources acting on specific information about the presence of Hizbul Mujahideen millitant in Bachkunda Bhimdasa village of Gool block of the hilly Ramban district, Police and Rashtriya Rifles launched a joint search operation late Friday night to apprehend him. Seeing the security forces approaching, he started firing which was returned by the Forces in which he got killed. Security Forces recovered one AK 56 rifle, 3 magazines and 54 rounds from the slain militant.

Earlier, in a separate operation on Friday, Security Forces busted a militant hideout in Lijnaal, Bhimdassa, area of Gool in Ramban district and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunitions.
