In Jammu and Kashmir, Security Forces on Wednesday averted a major tragedy by busting a militant hideout in Poonch district and recovered IEDs and ammunition. Acting on specific information, Security Forces launched search operations in Khanatar Top forest area of Poonch and came across a hideout from where the forces recovered two IEDs weighing 8 kgs, one Grenade, 56 rounds of Pika Gun and two big transistors. One IED weighing 5 kg was fitted in a tape recorder while another IED weighing 3 kg was fitted in a tiffin box. With the recovery of two IEDs, the Security Forces have thwarted the possible nefarious designs of militants to strike in a big way by planting IEDs in populated areas of the district.
