In Jammu and Kashmir security forces today averted a major tragedy by detecting an IED planted by suspected militants on Jammu-Poonch road in Rajouri district. The Road Opening Party of Army during the routine patrolling found that some explosive device was kept aside the road at Saaj in Thannamandi area of the border district. The troops closed the road instantly for the vehicular traffic and started. Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Rajouri Shafaqat Wattali told AIR Jammu correspondent Yogesh Sharma that the IED was later diffused with the help of a bomb disposal squad and added that the IED was containing about 5 kg explosive material could have caused a major destruction. An intensive search operation has been launched by the security forces in the area. During the operation, the vehicular movement remained effected on the Jammu -Poonch road for about four hours. <br/>
