Israeli Foreign Affairs minister Avigdor Liberman has said that the Security Council resolution is unacceptable and contributes nothing to the promotion of peace and stability in the Middle East. <br/><br/>In a statement of Israeli foreign ministry received by AIR in Dubai, Israeli foreign minister told the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon following the UN Security Council resolution that the subject of yesterday's incident was the basic right of Israeli soldiers to defend themselves against an attack. <br/><br/>He added that the initial intention of the flotilla participants was to strike at Israel's sovereignty and create a provocation that would cause bloodshed.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Two Palestinians have been killed in Khan Younis East of Gaza today in the exchange of fire between Israeli Defence forces and Palestinian insurgents. <br/><br/>According to Israeli Media Haaretz, troops killed militants who crossed into Israel from Gaza, following a short shootout. An Israeli military spokeswoman said that incident occurred when soldiers identified two infiltrators near the border.<br/><br/>Overnight, the Israeli military reported the firing of a projectile from Gaza into the western Negev, with no injuries reported. <br/><br/>An armed group, the Al-Aqsa Brigades claimed the launch of the projectile. Maan news agency quoting the statement of the group reports that the fire was a response to the Israeli crimes against the Freedom Flotilla.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Israeli security forces are on high alert on the Lebanon, Gaza and Syria borders following the Israel Navy raid of the Gaza aid flotilla, which resulted in the deaths of nine pro-Palestinian activists Monday morning.
