Security beefed up ahead of Mamta’s rally in Lalgarh

In West Bengal, the security measures have been beefed up in view of Trinamool Congress Chief and Railway Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee's public rally in Maoist-hit Lalgarh in West Midnapur District on Monday. The Trinamool Congress Chief had decided to hold the rally on this day with an aim to restore peace and democracy in Maoists infested Jangal Mahal area in the State. AIR correspondent reports from Lalgarh that the rally is being organised under the banner of “Anti-terrorism Platform” in which several eminent personalities, including Swami Agnivesh, who is currently acting as mediator between the Maoists and the Centre, are likely to be present.
