As part of the efforts to strengthen coastal security in the country, security agencies will set up watch towers and radar chains along the islands in Lakshadweep.Briefing media persons in Kochi on the recently concluded Coastal Security Exercise — Neptune II off Lakshadweep islands, the Naval Officer in Charge of coastal security in Kerala and Lakshadweep Commodore M R Ajaykumar said security agencies are planning to increase the surveillance of uninhabited islands in the region. He said other measures to be taken up include strengthening of civil aviation security and positioning of air assets in the islands.
