Mumbai Police have imposed section 144&nbsp; in the city today to restrict people's movement to contain the number of Corona virus cases. Mumbai registered 903 new cases, besides 93 deaths yesterday. The total tally of infected people till date stands at 77,197,&nbsp; besides 4554 people have succumbed to the infection<br />''<br />''In a desperate measure to check the rapid spread of Corona virus cases in the city, the Mumbai police today imposed section 144 in the metropolis. The section prohibits presence or movement of one or more persons in public places or gathering of any sort till July 15 unless withdrawn earlier.<br />''<br />'' The order prohibits gatherings of any sort, including at religious places. Movement of one or more persons in areas designated as containment zones by the municipal authorities have also been prohibited. Except for medical emergencies, movement of one or more persons in the city between 9 pm to 5 am have also been prohibited.<br />''<br />'' Establishments providing essential services like food, vegetables, milk supply, medical and grocery stores, hospitals, medicines, pharma and related establishments are exempted.<br />''<br />'' Meanwhile, neigbouring, Thane Municipal Corporation-and Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation have declared complete lockdown for 10 days. While the lockdown in MBMC starts from today evening to 10th July; TMC will enforce it from tomorrow till 12th July. Both the areas have witnessed an alarming rise of COVID&nbsp;cases in past one month.
