Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms Jayalalithaa has said that she has shifted the Secretariat to the historic Fort St George for the sake of administrative convenience. In a statement issued to the media, she said the move is to provide people easy access to the ministers in relation to the implementation of welfare schemes. Ms Jayalalithaa also stated that it is necessary for all important Government Offices to be located in one place for easy administration. AIR correspondent reports, that the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and part of the Secretariat offices were shifted to the new premises by the previous regime.
