The BJP today charged the RJD and Congress with having a secret alliance for the forthcoming assembly polls in Bihar. Party National General Secretary Ananth Kumar told reporters in Patna that the Congress had been cosy with the RJD over the years and had joined the latter's government in 2000 despite contesting the then assembly polls on its own. In a related development, LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan today dismissed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's suggestion that RJD-LJP alliance could join hands with Congress after the forthcoming assembly polls in the state. On the other hand, the Congress said, it will release its list of candidates for all the 243 assembly seats in Bihar by September 25. Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against Bihar Minister for Public Health Engineering Department Ashvani Kumar Choubey charging him in with violating the model code of conduct ahead of the assembly polls. Choubey, a senior BJP leader, has been charged with making announcements for making the airport operational for domestic flight to allegedly influence voters in his Bhagalpur assembly constituency.
