Rejecting opposition parties' claims that secrecy was not maintained by the government before demonetising higher currency notes, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said secrecy was the essence of this campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. <br/><br/>Delivering a talk on demonetisation in Bengaluru, he said that Mr Modi had given ample hints over some drastic steps to unearth black money and expose money hoarders but the demonetisation of higher currency was wrapped under tight secrecy. <br/><br/>He also rejected claims by opposition that big industry leaders had been informed about the process. He said, the allegation of Congress that Ambanis or Adanis knew about this earlier is a farce. <br/><br/>Mr. Naidu said the two business houses are the creation of the previous governments and not Mr Modi's babies. He thanked the common people for exhibiting monumental patience in support of the government to eradicate black money and money hoarders. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu said the biggest beneficiaries of the demonetization process have been the poor, middle class and honest tax payers and if the scheme succeeds it will bring 'revolutionary change' in the country. <br/><br/>He thanked the ordinary people who stood in the queues before the banks to get small sums of new currency but did not complain. Mr. Naidu further Pakistan, arm smugglers, hawala operators, terrorist and anti-social elements are the most unhappy people.The symposium titled 'a bold and revolutionary step to curb corruption and black money' was organised by BJP.<br/><br/>Mr. Naidu said Prime Minister and the Government continuously monitoring the situation arising out of demonitisation. He said that every Indian should stand behind the Prime Minister and support for the war against black money. He said IMF also appreciated the Prime Minister's move and this decision was taken in the interest of the nation.
