In Rajasthan, the second round of talks between the Gujjar delegation and senior government officials has ended on a positive note, with both the sides expressing the hope that the agitation will end soon. According to the Principal Secretary G.S. Sandhu, who led the government side, nine points came up for discussion during the meeting held in Karwari village near Pilupura. There was consensus between the members of Gujjar delegation and government side on almost all the issues except immediate grant of five per cent reservation. Mr. Sandhu placed the government's commitment to give five per cent reservation to SBCs before the delegation and said that any decision in this matter can be taken within the purview of recent High Court's directions, in order to avoid any further litigation. He assured that those cases against Gujjars will be withdrawn in which there are no legal complications. The members of the Gujjar delegation said that this round of talks have been successful in bringing the Gujjar protestors and the Government closer to each other. They said, Col. Kirodi Singh Bainsla will be briefed about the talks and the final decision on the issue will be taken by him.
