Second phase of vaccination drive from tomorrow; COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 97.10 per cent

<span style="color: #222222;">Keeping up the pace of administering maximum number of COVID vaccine doses the nation has achieved the milestone of administering over 1 crore 43 lakh doses till this morning. The second phase of vaccination for senior citizens and those above 45 years with co-morbidities begins tomorrow.<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, the COVID-19 recovery rate in the country stands at 97.10 per cent. Health Ministry said, in the last 24 hours, 11 thousand 718 people were discharged after recovery. Till now, over 1 crore 7 lakh 75 thousand people have recovered from the COVID-19 infection. In the last 24 hours, 16 thousand 752 new cases were reported.<br />'' <br />'' The number of active cases in the country stands at nearly 1 lakh 64 thousand comprising around 1.48 per cent of the total reported cases. The Health Ministry has informed that 113 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative toll to 1 lakh 57 thousand 51.<br />'' <br />'' Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR has informed that over 7 lakh 95 thousand samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country yesterday. With this the cumulative testing figure has crossed the mark of 21 crore 62 lakh.<br />''<br />''As of today, two thousand 396 laboratories are engaged in the work of testing COVID samples across the country which includes one thousand 221 government and one thousand 175 private labs. </span>
