Second FIPIC summit begins in Jaipur today

Heads of States, Ministers and delegates of 14 Pacific island nations, which include Fiji, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Kiribati, Micronesia, Solomon Islands and Tonga, have reached Jaipur to participate in second summit of FIPIC. <br/><br/>They were extended warm welcome by Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje and Union Minster of State for External Affairs General V K Singh. They visited Historical Amer Fort and cherished the beauty and architecture of the fort. Later in the afternoon, Heads of state will meet Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh over Lunch. The summit will formally begin at 6:25 in the evening. PM Narendra Modi will address the Summit.<br/><br/>

Second FIPIC summit begins in Jaipur today

The Second Summit of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) is beginning in Jaipur today. Heads of State and Government and senior officials from all the 14 Pacific Island countries are participating in the summit. Prime Minister Narender Modi will address the summit this evening. AIR correspondent reports the objective of this summit is to enhance trade and investment relations between India and member countries.<br/><br/>In the Second FIPIC Summit, India proposes to share its experience and expertise in renewable energy, particularly the solar sector which is of particular importance for the sustainable development of Pacific Island countries .The summit will focus on strengthening mutual cooperation in the areas like fishing, mining, oil and natural gas, information technology, health, marine resources, agriculture, coconut and coir. India will also try to give a message to the participating nations that it will be their "trusted partner" in the journey of development. <br/><br/>All India Radio will broadcast live coverage of the second Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation Summit from 06:20 PM onwards.It will be aired on FM Rainbow and other channels.
