In Jharkhand, the second and final phase of the census started on Wednesday morning from the house of the Speaker of the State Assembly, C P Singh at Ranchi. The Speaker answered 29 questions posed by the census officials. Speaking to the media after that, the Speaker C P Singh urged the people to come forward and answer all the questions correctly and honestly, as the data collected from this would help the governments of state and Center to formulate appropriate welfare plan and policies. Speaking to AIR Ranchi Correspondent later, Mr. Singh said that media should also build up public awareness on the census so that people's participation is maximum.
