Second Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group meeting under India's G20 presidency begins in Gandhinagar

<span style="color: #222222;">The second Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group meeting under India's G20 presidency began today with the presentation by G20 member countries on best practices about Water Resources Management. The three-day meeting is being held at Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre at Gandhinagar in Gujarat. Around 130 delegates from G20 member countries along with 11 invitee countries and 14 international organizations are participating in the three-day event.</span><br />''<br />''The meeting focuses on thematic areas like arresting land degradation, accelerating ecosystem restoration and enriching biodiversity,  Encouraging resource efficiency and Circular economy, and Promoting a sustainable and climate-resilient Blue economy.<br />''<br />''Talking exclusively to AIR News, Special Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Debashree Mukherjee said that the meeting mainly focuses on water resources management as it very important in context of climate change. She said, G20 countries including Italy and China  shared their best practices on water management. Ms. Mukherjee added that during the meeting , Italy shared it's best practices on Drought management while China on Groundwater management.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The delegates will also get an opportunity to witness a mix of modernity and tradition during the excursions, organized as a part of the meeting. During their site visit, India's ancient water management practices will be demonstrated at the  Ancient Stepwell-Adalaj Vav and the country's engineering prowess  at the Sabarmati siphon. Delegates will also have an opportunity to experience Gujarat's vibrant cultural traditions through specially curated dance and music performances.</span>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>
