Seat-sharing decision rests with me & Sonia Gandhi: Sharad Pawar

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar has said, the decision on seat sharing for Maharashtra Assembly polls would be taken by him and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Mr. Pawar said that going alone in the Assembly elections was not in the interest of both the parties. He was speaking to the state party leaders in Mumbai to discuss the ongoing talks with Congress regarding election preparations. Mr. Pawar also asked the leaders to refrain from making comments which would harm the alliance.

Later, speaking to media persons Maharashtra NCP President Sunil Tatkare said that NCP was firm on its demand for 144 seats and Congress should respect NCP’s views.
