Season's first Grand Slam Australian Open began this morning at Melbourne today. Currently top ranked and defending champions Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams will be seen in action today on the hard court. In the men's singles Tennis event, Serbian Djokovic will play his first round match against Korean Hyeon Chung. Third seed Swiss maestro Roger Federer will be playing against Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili. While, India's Yuki Bhambri in the main draw will be facing sixth seeded Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic, last year's quarter finalist and 7th seed Japan's Kei Nishikori will also be in action today. In women's singles, Serena Williams will start her title defence against unseeded Italy's Camila Giorgi. Fifth seed Russian Maria Sharapova and local hope Samantha Stosur are also scheduled to start their campaign today.In the tournament, Indian Tennis ace Sania Mirza will look to carry forward her sparkling run with Swiss partner Martina Hingis. They are coming into the tournament after winning both the build-up events at Brisbane and Sydney. Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna, Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Purav Raja along with their partners have been grouped in men's doubles draws.
