The second edition of the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) begins at Kobe in Japan today. The nearly three-week long tournament will be contested by five teams in Asia. Indian Aces, Philippine Mavericks, Singapore Slammers and UAE Royals had participated in the inaugural season last year. Japan Warriors will join the four this year.Winners of the first edition, Indian Aces comprise of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna along with Rafael Nadal and 4 other players.Leander Paes is in Japan Warriors alongside Maria Sharapova, Kei Nishikori and Marat Safin among others. There are no other Indians in the tournament. However, top stars like Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Stanislas Wawrinka and Belinda Bencic in Singapore Slammers, Roger Federer and Ana Ivanovic in UAE Royals, and Serena Williams and Milos Raonic in Philippine Mavericks will be seen in action in the competition.In today's matches, Singapore Slammers will take on UAE Royals, while Indian Aces will clash with Japan Warriors.
