After the escape of nine prisoners from Meerut jail yesterday Raids were conducted in 56 jails throughout Uttar Pradesh today. In this surprise checking all most all jails got clean chit except some small amount of illegal material were seized.The DIG jail Meerut A K Panda told AIR Allahabad correspondent that no illegal material was found in Meerut zone jails. He clarifies that search operation is on to nab the nine prisoners escaped from jail yesterday.According to police head quarter spokesperson R K Meharotra some small amount of unauthorized material have been seized from Ghazipur ,Hamirpur, Sitapur ,Faizabad ,Basti and Azamgarh district jails . Two sim cards were found in Sitapur jail while a number of blades from different jails .about four thousand rupees was also recovered from a prison from Faizabad jail.Earlier ,the ADG Jail VK Gupta told AIR that the Raids were conducted today in all fifty one (51) district jails and five (5) central jails throughout the state under supervision of District Magistrates and senior district police officer.
