Search operation in Dantewada after yesterday's blast

Chhattisharh Police have launched a search operation after yesterday's Dantewada massacre. In an exclusive interview to our correpondent Manikant Thackur, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Amresh Mishra confirmed that the landmine blast has so far claimed 31 lives and injured another 41. The dead include 16 special Police Officers and 15 civilians. However Unofficial reports put the death toll at 50. <br/> <br/>Mr. Mishra said that the postmortem of the dead are being carried out. He said that the Ex-gratia amounts are also being given to the kin of the victims. The Superintendent of Police also informed that there will be a paradigm shift in tackling the Maoists. <br/> A passenger bus, on its way from Sukma to Dantewada, was<br/>blown up by Maoists between Gadiras to Bhusaras near Chingavaram village, using Improvised Explosive Device with gelatin sticks. Chief Minister Raman Singh had announced an ex-gratia of 4 lakh rupees to the kin of each of the civilian victims and 5 lakh rupees for the families of the Special Police Officers (SPOs), who were killed in the attack. <br/><br/>
