The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) says they are coordinating a massive search for a cargo plane missing in far north Queensland. The twin-engine Aero Commander left Cairns early on Thursday morning and was due to land at Horn Island in the Torres Strait around 8:00am (local time). AMSA spokeswoman Tracy Jiggins said the pilot was on the radio about 15 minutes before he was due to land. Queensland Police spokeswoman Chelsea Rogers said it is not known how many people were onboard.
