The sealing of expenses of the Lok Sabha and the Assembly Elections has been increased. The upper limit of expenses for the Lok Sabha candidate has increased to 40 lacks rupees from 25 lakh rupees and for the Assembly Constituency it has been increased to 16 lacks rupees from 10 lakh rupees. This was declared by the Election Commission in Kolkata today. Besides this, the Election Commission has declared two new directives. According to the new notification at the time of filing nomination a candidate will have to file his or her personal Income Tax status and his or her won or their family Pan Card number, details of Income Tax returns, and the amount of return submitted.
