In the poll bound state of Goa , scrutiny of nominations will take place on Tuesday. The state is going for polls on March 3. AIR Panaji Correspondent reports, on the last day of filing nominations for the state assembly elections 173 candidates filed 238 nomination papers on Monday thus taking the total number of nominations to more than 450.The Congress Party which has allied with NCP has fielded 33 candidates leaving seven seats for NCP while the Bharatiya Janata Party which has entered into an alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party has fielded 31 candidates leaving eight seats for MGP and one seat for independent.The Trinamool Congress which is contesting in Goa for the first time is contesting on 22 seats.A good number of independents are going to be in the frey this time for elections. 16th February is the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
