Scrutiny of nominations for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections is underway today. 629 candidates have filed nominations for the first phase and elections for which will take place on the 12th of next month. <br/><br/>Candidates can withdraw their nominations till Saturday. Polling for the first phase will be held in 49 constituencies in districts of Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jamui. Elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in 5 phases between the 12th of next month and 5th of November. Counting will be held on the 8th of November.
