Scrutiny of nominations for the first phase of Bihar Assembly Elections will be held today. 629 candidates have filed nominations for the first phase, the elections for which will take place on the 12th of next month. Candidates can withdraw their nominations till Saturday.<br/><br/>Polling for the first phase will be held in Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jamui districts.<br/><br/>Elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in 5 phases between the 12th of next month and 5th of November. Counting will be held on the 8th of November. The term of the current Assembly expires on 29th November.
