Scrutiny of nomination papers is in progress in Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand, scrutiny of nomination papers is in progress for the seventy – member Assembly polls on the 30th of this month. According to State Election Office, about nine hundred candidates of different political parties and independents had filed their nomination papers. AIR correspondent reports, the filing of nominations had ended on Thursday in the state.According to Joint Chief Election Officer Saujanya, maximum number of candidates numbering 195 have filed their nomination papers in Dehradun District, while only 15 nomination papers were filed in Champawat District.
