Scrutiny of nomination papers for 6th & last phase of Bihar assembly elections today

In Bihar scrutiny of nomination papers filed for 6th and last phase of assembly elections will be taking place today. AIR correspondent reports 26 constituencies spread over 5 districts of centre, south and west region of the state will go for poll in this phase. A total of 459 nominations have been filed for last phase of elections. 6th of this month is last date for withdrawal of candidature. Polling is slated on November 20. Meanwhile all major political parties and alliances have put their maximum strength for campaigning for 5th phase of elections. Congress national general secretary Rahul Gandhi addressed three election rallies at Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jehenabad districts. Leaders from other major political parties including JDU, BJP, RJD, LJP and JDS have also campaigned intensively in different constituencies. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JDU president Sharad Yadav addressed several election rallies at Patna, Gaya, Nawada and Jehenabad districts. Leader of the main opposition RJD Lalu Prasad Yadav addressed public meetings at Patna and Bhojpur while his ally LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan attended election rallies at Nalanda district. Meanwhile, the security personnel including jawans of central para military forces have begun starting for those areas where the fifth and sixth phases of elections are to be conducted. The fifth phase of elections will be held in 35 constituencies on November 9 and sixth phase on Nov 20 in 26 constituencies .AIR correspondent reports that most the areas are under these two phases are Naxal affected.
