Scrutiny of nomination papers for 2nd phase UP polls ends

In Uttar Pradesh, the scrutiny of nomination papers for the second phase ended on Tuesday. AIR correspondent reports that the papers of a few independents and candidates of smaller parties were rejected on technical grounds.Meanwhile, the nomination process continued for third phase of assembly elections on Tuesday.28th January is last date for filing nominations. Political leaders are campaigning for their party candidates for the first and second phase election.The Election Commission on Tuesday organised a rally of school children to make people aware of their voting rights.The rally covering a distance of 52 kilometres started from Ramsanehi Ghat in Ayodhya and passed through Barabanki and ended on borders of Lucknow covering more than two dozen assembly constituency areas.
