Scientists claim to have discovered a natural preservative that could spell the end of rotting food. Researchers at the University of Minnesota identified the substance, called bisin, which destroys the bacteria that make meat, fish, eggs and dairy products decompose. The researchers said the preservative could extend the food's life for several years. They claimed that it can even work for opened bottles of wine and salad dressing.
