Schools in Nagaland resumed today after 11 months of hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The schools were reopened, with strict guidelines in place, only for students of Classes VI and above functioning in the state.<br />'' <br />''The Directorate of School Education has permitted the resumption of conduct of regular classes for students of Classes VI and above in all the schools functioning in Nagaland from today.<br />'' <br />''For the safety of the students, teachers and all concerned, Nagaland's Chief Secretary J. Alam had issued Standard Operating Procedures on 1st of February stipulating the preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in educational institutions, for strict compliance throughout the state.<br />'' <br />''Principal Director of School Education Shanavas C. today said the attendance of schools is of voluntary basis. While, advising the schools heads to schedule school activities strictly accordingly to the SOPs issued by the State Government, Mr Shanavas also asked the heads to ensure that all materials required for COVID-19 sanitation purposes are made available in the schools. The Principal Director further urged the students, teachers, and parents to take all COVID-19 SOPs in the interest for the safety of all.<br />
